Happy Lunar New Year! It is unbelievable how time flies and we are into the 2nd month of 2016.

It’s funny how I seems to have experienced all my highs and lows right from 1st Jan 2016 to just before Lunar new year. January has been incredible, especially the first two weeks just because I was on vacation to Portugal and Spain which I will dedicates whole post to the travel roundup coming up next and just days before the year of Monkey arrived, my grandfather passed away peacefully. He will be dearly missed by all of us. :'(

Without further ado, let me just spell out my resolution for the year just so to keep my accountability.

1) getting priorities right.

Sometimes I tend to get carried away with other things and lose my focus on the big picture. Other times when I get overwhelm with many things, I ended up wanting to give attention to everything but ended up giving none. Hence this year is about knowing my priorities and FOCUS!

2) run sundown marathon.

Sundown marathon

I have been talking and included running a full marathon in my resolution list for many many years and I had failed to do it every single time. This year, I have already signed up for the race on 29th May and I am going to do it. I should start my training soon, not much time left!

3) learn how to cook a Chinese/ Singaporean dish.

Why this resolution is because when I was in Europe earlier this year, I was caught in situations that I had opportunity to cook for people and introduce them to Singaporean dishes but I was not able to do so because I have no idea how to cook just because the only ‘Asian’ food I can cook is instant noodles. :S I would like to have a dish or two under my belt if case I need to cook on demand.

4) finish the course I am currently undertaking then move on to pick up a new skill/ language after.

I am still keen to pick up Spanish. Even if I do not take up a course on Spanish, I hope to make use of the $500 of SkillFuture Credit after all learning is a lifelong process.

5) Spent more time with family.

Throughout the year, I get overwhelmed with work, travel, friends and social life. Often when I am home, I will just shut myself out for some personal time. I should spent more time with my family, immediate or extended because we are together for life.

I breezed past 2015 accident free, I had to sprained THE SAME ANKLE of the second day of the new year, in Evora, Portugal! Do not ask me how I manage to do it, anything that can possibly happen, can happen to me! Thankfully it was a minor sprain and I recovered within a week. Well, I survived.

Being an avid traveller, I know it is unbelievable but I am going to cut down my travelling for a bit this year. I have no plans to beat or match last year’s record of 8 times.

With a ride on the rollercoaster so far, I know the rest of 2016 is going to be an even more exciting year. I am having the good vibes and this is going to be the year where plans turn into actions. I am ready to embrace all the other ups and downs all in the name of life and experience. Bring it on!
