Hi! I am Pamela from the concrete jungle, Singapore and I have a flair for travelling.
Yes, I have got a serious case of wanderlust. I have been diagnosed since 2012 when I came back from a 17 days vacation to Australia.
Often my mind would wander to faraway places and my feet itch to leave the soil I know too well. I would imagine having warm sand beneath my feet and watch the glittering sun as it reflects off the sea. I would imagine walking along streets or places with historical values, reliving those historical majestic moments. I would imagine donning in thick warm clothes as I take a sip of wine from a Christmas Market to keep myself warm in the snow. I would imagine waking up in an unfamiliar place with a heart ready to discover.
Unfortunately living in a consumer-driven society, the only way to fuel those travelling endorphin is to use all my annual leaves on trips ranging from 3 days to 2 weeks while I continue to slog away in a 9-5 job.
In 2017, I took a chance. I quitted my job, left for Colombia to learn Spanish which came in handy when I travel through South America.
What is Pam Goes Travelling all about?
This is where I share tips, travel stories and also some personal growth.
My aim is to inspire you to leave the comfort zone and travel. There is always a fear of the unknown but once you take the plunge and push yourself out of your comfort zone, life will reward you with so much more!
I believe in striking a balance between everything. There are times I travel with friends, there are times I like to do explore a city on my own. Sometimes I carry my travel possessions on my back while other times, I wheel luggage beside me. I love value for money deals and sometimes I indulge in guilty pleasures.
I have a terrible sense of direction. I am a horrible navigator, a slow map reader but I am getting there! Thank goodness for Google Map which saves most of my days! I will need at least 2 seconds to figure out my Left and Right! Despite my lack of directional sense, I still manage to survive trips on my own.
I travel because I feel empowered to make things happen. I am capable of pushing my own limits to achieve my goals. I travel to experience cultures, understand histories, interact with locals, experiment different cuisines, meet people and to admire nature’s beauty. Travelling opens my eyes and mind, giving me the extra contentment that no amount of material goods can satisfy. Most importantly, I travel because I want to experience life.
I invite you to join me on my journey as I grow, learn and experience through my travels. To find me in the virtual world, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
